Teaching children, for me, is not a 9 to 6 job that stops when I get home, it is a constant around the clock process. It is a position that demands a lot of reflection and constant self-improvement. What can I tell my students tomorrow? How can I contribute to the burning flame of wonder? Or, maybe, even rekindle that interest if, for some reason, it was lost? These are the questions a teacher is ought to ask himself/herself. I believe that teachers are like doctors in many ways. Where normal doctors have to deal with human physique and be prepared to be needed 24/7, I think that teachers are, some sort of doctors for human souls, helping children to establish themselves and bring out the best in them, helping them, first of all, to learn about themselves and the world around them.
The responsibility is tremendous since there are no second chances, the trust of the children is the most valuable commodity a teacher could possess that’s why I take my job extremely seriously and am very proud to be a teacher. I truly believe that the making of a better world starts with our children being heard.
Being a teacher is a complicated role but a very rewarding one! It keeps you on your toes the whole time, it inevitably brings the best in you, too, you just can’t let yourself go when you are being a constant example for the little ones!
